Wiebe Knives was founded in 2010 by Mark Steck, whose countless hours skinning and processing game taught him exactly what a good knife should do — and what it shouldn't make you struggle with.

Working with a team of experienced knife users, Mark helped develop practical handle designs and cutting tools built around the needs of hunters, trappers and fur handlers.

That hands-on philosophy still guides Wiebe today. Our products are designed in South Dakota with an emphasis on comfortable grips, durable materials and wicked-sharp blades that make real work easier.

Fur handling demands tools that perform consistently, season after season. For approximately 15 years, Wiebe has developed fleshing knives with input from experienced fur handlers, commercial operators and fur buyers who understand the demands of preparing valuable pelts.

That feedback has helped shape our blade designs, handles and overall approach to creating practical tools for skinning and fleshing.

Today, Wiebe fur-handling tools are used by professional trappers, taxidermists and other fur handlers across North America, with customers as far away as Germany and Australia.
